I have some very exciting news to share! Starting in late July I will be in Charlotte a few days each week to start my training as a NASCAR Pit Crew member. Yes, training to be a member of a Pit Crew…not just training them as their coach. It seems a little random and crazy initially, but the opportunity presented itself recently solely due to my CrossFit training.

This is a rare opportunity that has been presented to me through my development of CrossFit and my dedication to a higher standard. I hope that each of you can see the amazing path I have been blessed with and now has opened a new door. Simply because of CrossFit I have been able to develop the skills to work in the highest competitive sport there is with no gender boundaries and literally make history happen. Uh…seriously cool if you haven’t figured that out yet!

I am embarking on this endeavor with belief in myself that I can achieve this almost crazy goal. I hope that each of you will see the potential in yourself that I see. CrossFit Invoke breeds athletes, champions, and leaders in fitness, life and the world. I try to inspire and help people believe in themselves. Through this, I believe not only will the sport of NASCAR and CrossFit be changed forever, but many more people will believe that they possibly have what it takes. If a non-athletic, troubled girl can use CrossFit to change her life, only to lead her to a pro sport like NASCAR anyone can.

I will be commuting back and forth from Charlotte to Raleigh weekends and events but wont be in the everyday grind of the community and gym, which truly does break my heart. However, know with certainty I will be there any opportunity I have. While we haven’t performed an official announcement or had a celebration just yet, some of you have noticed through Facebook or our website that Mitchell has accepted the responsibility of co-ownership and I am proud to have him as a coach and partner and feel comfortable leaving the day to day running of the gym and the training of our athletes in his care while I am training in Charlotte. Mitchell and I have been working together since day 1 when we opened our doors in December 2010, and were discussing future plans for CrossFit Invoke even while he was training in Fort Benning, GA last year. We will continue to work together while I am in Charlotte so that I can stay connected with you. Also know that I will always be your Coach and leader. I believe that my determination and ability I will be able to develop the skill that it takes and make CrossFit Invoke proud to be my home box.

P.S. Don’t believe for ONE minute that just because I won’t be in the box everyday that the same standards and rules will be slacked…all of the coaches have been briefed and are prepared for any possible scenario! Don’t make me assign “Death by Thrusters” to keep you rowdy kids in line!
